GIL has received a Doctoral New Investigator award from the ACS Petroleum Research Fund to investigate how deformation reshapes pore-scale multiphase flow and transport.
Dr. Wencheng Jin received a prestigious Young Investigator Program (YIP) award from the Office of Naval Research. The Texas A&M College of Engineering also featured the project in “New model seeks to predict coastal changes in real time.”
Nicolas Cardenas Acevedo presented his research on modeling microseismicity in enhanced geothermal systems and the impact of injection parameters at Utah FORGE at the 2026 Stanford Geothermal Workshop.
Dr. Wencheng Jin chaired the Innovation and Challenges in Storage Technologies session in the SPE/ARMA Workshop: Subsurface Storage from Characterization to Implementation.
Dr. Wencheng Jin was invited and participated in the NSF Workshop on Fractured Rockmass at Georgia Tech.
